DIRECTION ACCOUNTING PORT MACQUARIE AWARDED COVETED INDUSTRY MARK.

Direction Accounting Port Macquarie is one of only 72 accountancy practices across Australasia that has been awarded the Proactive Accountants Network mark.

Member firms have banded together to form the affiliate member group which has abolished charging by the clock. The move will see struggling SMEs being offered more than just the usual ‘compliance tick-box’ services by their accountants

Direction Accounting Port Macquarie said that in the lead up to EOFY a good accountant should have been consulting their clients weeks ago… and with recent budget announcements many local businesses are now set to potentially lose thousands of dollars due to rushed and ineffectual advice.

“Local businesses savvy enough to employ us will be prepared and stress free this 30 June because we’re proactive,” David Ross said

“We’ve signed on to the Proactive Accountants Network because we believe in the future all clients will expect an accredited supplier.

“Proactive Accountants Network provides us with the support and intellectual property in terms of process to ensure quality of delivery and innovation of services. This translates to money saved for clients and more business for us.”

Cynthia Wilson from Doors Plus said that hiring Direction Accounting has contributed to her businesses growth and offers peace of mind.

“We like that Direction is cost effective and charge only agreed fees for specific services. Direction offers us more than the standard ‘tax and compliance’. They’ve become a trusted business advisor to Doors Plus Port Macquarie, not just run of the mill accountants.” she said.

Proactive Accountants Network CEO Rob Nixon said he designed the network to ensure member accountants were offering the best possible service and a genuine, cost effective alternative to the ‘Big Four’ without comprising on delivery.

“Many firms say they are proactive where in actual fact they are not,” he said.

“They are typically reactive ‘history writers’ acting as the Government’s hand maiden. These guys provide their SME clients with the bare minimum – compliance services.

“Most firms do not visit or proactively call their clients without charging, they do not make an effort to build lasting relationships with their clients, they do not offer a fixed price up front and they want to charge for every 6 minutes of time.

“It’s about time this sort of behaviour stopped – it’s promoting bad behaviour and ultimately SME’s end up paying more.”

Branches of some mid-tier firms along with sole practitioners, and multi-partner firms have all joined forces, giving the Proactive Accountants Network initial combined annual billings of more than $128 million.
